Keep Shoes Smelling Fresh with Peppermint Oil

Keep Shoes Smelling Fresh with Peppermint Oil If your shoes ever get too pungent, a little peppermint oil can freshen them up while you sleep.

All you have to do is soak a cotton ball or two with a little peppermint oil, and stick them in your shoes overnight. By morning, they should be much less offensive. You can also experiment with using more or less oil to adjust the strength of the effect, so you don't end up smelling like a box of Thin Mints. Of course, if you don't have any peppermint oil laying around, you could use baking soda, your freezer, dryer sheets, or cat litter instead.
