Rotworld is Coming

According to Lemiere (who is co-writing the epic tale with regular Swamp Thing writer Scott Snyder), "Buddy Baker and Alec Holland join forces to lead a pre-emptive strike deep into The Rot, the consequences of which will tear both of their worlds apart forever."

Art for the storyline will be provided by Yanick Paquette and Steve Pugh.

Rotworld begins in Swamp Thing and Animal Man #12s, both shipping in August from DC Comics.

Guardians of the Galaxy Return?

In an attempt to stay abreast to their movie magic, Marvel is releasing comics that stay in line with their movie productions. Today brings the Avengers Assemble #6 preview and the return of the Guardians of the Galaxy by Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Bagley.

Tom Brevoort, Marvel?s SVP of Publishing, said, "The last time we saw a couple of these characters, particularly Peter Quill, he was in the middle of being blown up in a big, universe-collapsing fight with Thanos. So we'll get some hints as to why he's still here and walking around and how all this connects. With the Guardians return, you'll see what's been going on in the larger Marvel Universe."

Though news has hit that Brian Michael Bendis would be departing as writer on Avengers franchise, Brevoort did say Avengers Assemble #6 isn't the end of the current series arc by a long shot, and that the story of Thanos, the Zodiac and now the Guardians will play out into the Fall.

First Looks!

The Shade #8

DC is offering up a preview of The Shade Issue #8, the second of three standalone ?Times Past? issues in the 12-part series, where the story travels back in time to turn-of-the-century France. Collaborating with writer James Robinson on this special issue is artist Jill Thompson (Sandman).

Robinson told The Source, ?Tying into the ongoing, present day narrative, this tale of 1901 features our shadowy (anti)hero at point in his existence when while enjoying a wastrel's life in Paris of that time, he is suddenly confronted with a supernatural evil that threatens a member of his family. The Shade must find his conscience and courage to fight this terror. I hope everyone checks this issue out. I'm very proud of it and I know you'll all enjoy Ms. Thompson's depiction of the Shade in that era.?

The Shade #9

Hot on the tail of DC's The Shade #8 preview, they are also offering an exclusive first look at the variant cover for The Shade #9 by Frazer Irving.
