Blog from David K. ? Boyer Children's Clinic | Teens In Public Service

In my first two weeks working at Boyer Children?s Clinic, I have witnessed the true art of patience. Patience is one of many life lessons taught at Boyer Children?s Clinic. I work with children from birth to three and I have been given the opportunity to impact the lives of these children?s lives on a very basic but ever important level. Through very mundane actions like snack time, or free choice, I am teaching them sharing, responsibility and respect. I realize that I take for granted how easy it is for me to share with my peers, sit still in a chair during meal time, and simply listen while someone is speaking. To me, these actions are instinctual.? But for the young kids at Boyer Children?s Clinic, these foundational rules are being taught. Using much patience to instill these mannerisms into children, I am giving them the tools in order to go out into the world.
